Systems Analyst (SAP Environment)

Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to join their Johannesburg-based team on a contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for an analytical technology professional with experience working in complex enterprise environments and exposure to SAP. The role focuses on systems analysis, solution design and stakeholder collaboration rather than SAP configuration or support.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business and system requirements.
• Translate business needs into detailed system specifications and user stories.
• Support solution design across integrated enterprise systems.
• Define acceptance criteria, testing requirements and solution outcomes.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Facilitate workshops, design sessions and requirement reviews.
• Support manual testing activities and user acceptance testing.
• Ensure high-quality documentation, process mapping and system integration design.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years' experience in Systems Analysis, Systems Design or Solution Design.
• Experience working in complex, integrated enterprise environments.
• Exposure to SAP environments is essential.
• Strong SQL or Transact-SQL knowledge.
• Experience working with REST and SOAP web services.
• Knowledge of APIs, XML and JSON.
• Development experience in Java, C# or a similar programming language.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Agile experience is advantageous.
