Overview

In this role you will help drive smarter procurement by optimizing systems, data and processes. You will support a Transformation, Reporting and Intelligence team, ensuring reliable data and user-friendly technology to enable better commercial decisions. You will act as a super-user for key procurement systems, automate workflows and deliver practical guidance. This is a chance to shape the digital future of the council’s Commercial and Procurement Services and improve governance and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Act as super-user for core procurement systems; manage configuration, user access and permissions
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve workflows and enhance system functionality
  • Provide expert system support; resolve complex issues with IT and suppliers to deliver improvements
  • Design and deliver training and user resources for non-technical audiences
  • Support integration of procurement systems with wider corporate platforms and ensure data integrity
  • Collaborate with reporting and intelligence colleagues to develop standard reports and data extracts
  • Monitor system performance and user feedback to drive continuous improvement
Key requirements
  • Experience administering, configuring or acting as a super-user for complex business systems (Finance, ERP, CRM or procurement platforms)
  • Experience improving business processes through system optimization, automation and digital transformation
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with ability to identify root causes and implement solutions
  • Experience designing and delivering training or user guidance for non-technical audiences
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate with IT teams and suppliers
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear guidance for a wide range of users
