Systems Developer

We have an opportunity for a Systems Developer make an immediate impact upon organisational success and to work with a large, dynamic, open-minded and supportive team. It will suit software developers who will enjoy the challenge of applying their expertise in relation to database-driven Internet and intranet systems development in a structured, yet informal but challenging working environment. The Systems Development teams are responsible for a variety of existing internal and external web sites and systems. In addition, the teams are responsible for the creation of new systems that support the company moving in new directions. What you\'ll do

• Utilising captured requirements, develop, amend and maintain new and existing software.
• To follow and occasionally lead across the full project life cycle guiding the solution from concept through to post implementation support
• To produce accurate estimates and milestones for own work and monitor own work against those milestones
• Working as a member of the Development Team communicating progress against milestones and post implementation reviews
• Proactively identify risk
• Provide support and guidance to peers and Junior Developers
• Adhere to test principles
• Adhere and contribute to Departmental processes and procedures
• Build and maintain key business relationships
• Ensure that operational systems are fully supported in line with policies and procedures identifying symptoms and causes
  Experience of successfully designing and delivering mid-scale solutions including usability principles
• The ability to accurately capture and validate requirements
• An understanding of different methodologies eg Waterfall, Agile, RUP
• Experience of database design and optimisation
• A good understanding of TypeScript and JavaScript
• A good understanding of .NET languages, versions and technologies eg. C#, asp.net
• A good understanding of HTML and CSS
• The ability to write and understand SQL
• The ability to apply software design principles, eg. Object Orientated Design
• The ability to produce design documentation for mid-scale solutions using UML
• Previous experience of using configuration, release management and source control software
• The ability to produce automated unit tests
• Ability to contribute to continual improvement of internal development practices
• Ability to tailor communication to the target audience
• Act as a role model with the willingness to share knowledge across the team
• Good analytical skills
