Systems Engineer

Overview

As a Systems Engineer, you will be a key project team member applying safety and systems engineering expertise to projects and bid work. You will scope systems engineering tasks for proposals, develop high-quality documentation, and apply rigorous SE practices to deliver safe, reliable solutions. You’ll use SE tools for requirements management and modeling while mentoring junior team members and liaising with customers. This role places you at the heart of safety-critical engineering in a regulated environment with meaningful impact on project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support safety/systems engineering aspects of projects
• Draft and estimate systems engineering tasks for bid work
• Apply appropriate systems engineering practices on projects
• Generate and maintain high-quality SE documentation and obtain formal release reviews
• Use systems engineering tools for requirements management and design modelling
• Represent project systems engineering to project or customer communities
• Advise or mentor less-experienced team members on systems engineering
• Support other engineering disciplines as required (design, production, test)
• Contribute to ongoing development and improvement of engineering/business processes
• Perform other relevant duties as required

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with membership (or in progress) would be advantageous
• Experience in safety/systems engineering or design in a safety-regulated industry
• Knowledge of safety system design per IEC 61508 or similar standards (IEC 61513, IEC 61226)
• Knowledge of systems engineering processes, standards and methodologies (e.g., IEC 15288, UML)
• Knowledge of DOORS for requirements management
