Systems Engineer, Database Services

Salary: £63,000 - 103,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration
• Experience working with Linux
• Experience in any of the following: Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell or equivalent
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols such as HTTP and DNS
• Experience designing and developing scripts to automate operational burdens and reviewing scripting changes to ensure they meet the standards for maintainability, scalability and security
• Experience working in 24/7 production environment
• Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services

Responsibilities:

• Become a subject matter expert on multiple AWS services
• Develop, build, deploy, operate, sustain and grow services in cloud production environments
• Use trends and metrics to identify opportunities for improvements
• Help develop and refine procedures used by our team and internal customers
• Work on new and ambiguous problem domains while consistently delivering customer-impacting change
• Operate the worlds most advanced cloud computing infrastructure
• Simplify and reinvent systems, processes and tools to improve outcomes for our customers and builders
• Build unique solutions to customer technical problems
• Study and learn from Amazon Senior and Principal Engineers
• Coach, hire and develop team members
