Systems Engineer (Linux / Operations)

In this role you will support Visa’s client institutions by managing endpoint systems connected to core Visa services, ensuring high availability and secure deployments. You will collaborate with global teams, vendors, and client engineers to minimize service impacts and improve monitoring. The role blends hands-on Linux administration with automation and scripting to streamline installations, configurations, and incident response. You will contribute to ITIL-aligned change and problem management while upholding security practices and production-readiness.

• Provide technical advice and support to client institutions to meet expectations
• Document issues and changes with precision
• Maintain global inventory records
• Create and test Linux scripts for vendor field engineers
• Perform remote installations with on-site support and lockdown of endpoint servers
• Collaborate with Global Support, clients, and vendors to deliver nimble solutions
• Escalate critical issues and project risks to stakeholders and senior teams
• Ensure servers follow Visa security guidelines and report non-compliance
• Communicate effectively with a globally distributed team
• Work with IMAC and Project teams to ensure high-quality delivery
• Ensure all incidents and changes comply with ITIL and operational policies
• Lock down production servers and verify operational acceptance
• Diagnose problems by analyzing application and network traces

• Bachelor or 3+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience with Linux
