Overview

In this role you will lead technical engagements with UK Local Government customers to translate requirements into secure Fortinet architectures. You’ll drive solution design, PoCs, and demonstrations within a public sector context while aligning with compliance, budget, and operational needs. You’ll support secure network transformation across SD-WAN, NGFW, segmentation, and cloud security, contributing to resilient services for councils and authorities. Your work enables secure, compliant digital services and closer collaboration with partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical engagements across the full sales lifecycle for Local Government customers
  • Translate council requirements into Fortinet architectures aligned to compliance and budgets
  • Deliver demonstrations, whiteboards, and technical briefings for Local Government
  • Support secure network transformation projects (SD-WAN, NGFW, segmentation, cloud security, SOC integration)
  • Collaborate with partners, procurement, and internal teams for delivery and adoption
  • Maintain expertise on Fortinet portfolio, UK Public Sector standards, and emerging threats
  • Support RFI/RFP responses and framework submissions in Salesforce
  • Act as trusted advisor to customers and mentor to partners and colleagues
Key requirements
  • Experience in pre-sales engineering, technical consulting, or customer-facing engineering
  • Knowledge of NGFW, SD-WAN, segmentation, SASE, Zero Trust, SOC tooling, and cloud security
  • Experience supporting Local Authorities or Local Government organizations
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to build trusted relationships with customers and partners
  • Industry certifications (e.g., NSE/FCP, CISSP, CCNP) are an advantage
