Systems Engineering Consultant – Defence, Space, C4ISTAR, Government and Security sector

Salary: £60,000 to £75,000 negotiable plus pension, 25 days holiday, life assurance, medical

Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire or Chippenham, Wiltshire / Hybrid Role

Ourclientisasuccessfultechnicalconsultancydeliveringsystemsengineeringservicestogovernmentandindustry.Theyhaveexperiencewithindefence,nuclear,space,securityandtransportsectorsoftheUKandNATOwhichenablestheirteamtoprovidesolutionstosupportadiversestakeholdergroupandcommunityofvaryingsizesandcomplexity.

AsaSystemsEngineeringConsultant

youwillbeworkingwithclientstoanalysetheirproblems;capturerequirements;createarchitectures;identifypotentialoptions;assesssolutionsusingsystemsanalysismethods;andmakerecommendationsbasedonrobustevidence.Projectswilltypicallybeinsupportofresearchandprocurementactivitiesinthedefenceandsecuritysectorbutmayincludeworkinothersectorsandgovernmentdepartments.

YouwillhaveabackgroundpreferablyinSpaceSystemsandC4ISystems,DigitalEngineering,NetworkSystems,Telecommunications,DefenceSystems.

Responsibilitiesfor the role of SystemsEngineeringConsultantwillinclude:

• Delivering/leadingtechnicalconsultingprojects.
• Usingsystemsengineeringtotacklerealworldproblems,applyingtoolsandtechniques,anddevelopingnovelapproacheswhererequired.
• Applyinganddevelopingsystemsengineeringmethods,toolsandtechniques,includingdevelopingandapplyingnovelapproacheswhererequired.
• Workingorganicallyincustomerteamstodeliverhighqualitysystemsengineeringadvice&artefacts.
• Buildingnewrelationshipsandmaintainingcurrentcustomerrelationships.
• Assisting/leadinginidentifyingandwinningworkforanewandgrowingconsultancy.

Essential

• Educatedtodegreelevel,orequivalentrelevantexperience.
• Abilitytouseandapplyboth‘soft’and‘hard’systemsengineeringtechniquestosupportsystemdesign/development,businessdecisionmaking,policydevelopment,and/orresearch.
• Development,application,anddeliveryofsystemsengineeringmethods,toolsandartefacts.KnowledgeandUnderstandingoftheSystemsEngineeringLifecycle.).
• Buildingandmaintainingclientandstakeholderrelationships.
• Authoringtechnicalreports,developingsystemsengineeringartefacts,andpresentingtocustomers.
• ExperiencewithinSpaceSystems,C4ISTAR,SatelliteSystemsispreferable
