Overview

In this role you will manage Oracle databases across development to production environments, ensuring performance, availability, and security. You will handle performance tuning, HA/DR planning, and end-to-end issue resolution, while mentoring peers and collaborating with stakeholders. The position includes after-hours maintenance and 24x7 production support, reinforcing reliable core systems. You will work within Database Services to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement, shaping scalable database solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Oracle databases across multiple environments from development to production
  • Configure and monitor DB servers for performance, availability, and security
  • Perform database performance tuning
  • Plan, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot high-availability environments (RAC, Data Guard)
  • Analyze and resolve issues in real time with end-to-end problem resolution
  • Automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes for efficiency and cost optimization
  • Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and after-hours release deployment
  • Share domain and technical expertise through mentorship and cross-training
  • Collaborate with end customers, business stakeholders, and technical resources
Key requirements
  • 8+ years on Oracle 12.x/Above in an enterprise environment with multiple database servers
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native tools
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
  • Experience with database administration
  • Experience with incident and problem queue management
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Oracle
  • Experience with Linux, Windows & Unix servers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving skills
  • Flexible, team player, proactive "get-it-done" attitude
  • Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to multi-task and switch contexts between activities and teams
  • Strong ITIL foundation, Continual Service Improvement and Total Quality Management experience
