Systems Proving Engineer

In this role you will lead planning and execution of system-level trials to verify that complex defence systems meet their requirements. You’ll work closely with design and systems teams to ensure proper integration, testing, and validation, and you’ll produce technical plans and post-trial findings. The position involves coordinating diverse trial activities across labs, ground, harbour, sea, and firing environments, with opportunities for international travel. You will engage stakeholders across internal and external partners to drive proven systems performance.

• Plan and coordinate system trials with systems and design engineering teams
• Develop trial plans, procedures, and supporting technical documentation
• Capture and analyse trial data to assess system performance and identify design issues
• Investigate and resolve issues identified during proving activities
• Prepare for and participate in Trials Readiness Reviews
• Analyse trial results and produce post-trial reports and technical findings
• Support a range of proving activities including laboratory-based, ground, harbour/sea, and firing trials
• Manage engineering laboratories including risk assessments, asset management, safety requirements, and audits
• Maintain hardware and software configuration control
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, partners, and external stakeholders
• Potential travel opportunities (UK and international) depending on programme requirements
• Communicate with stakeholders at technical and management levels
• Experience with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, or industry partners is beneficial
• Exposure to MBSE tools (DOORS, Rhapsody, RTC) and Python is advantageous
• Comply with security requirements (British Citizen or dual UK National with British citizenship)

• Experience in planning and executing system-level proving activities
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering teams and with external partners
• Familiarity with lab and field trial environments and data analysis
• Security eligibility per UK citizenship requirements
