As a Systems Software Engineer, you will build the software foundation that enables integration of our novel AI hardware into real workloads. You will own the runtime, SDK and APIs interfacing with FPGA/ASIC hardware, focusing on performance and developer experience. You’ll bridge hardware and software, collaborating with hardware engineers to co-design efficient solutions. This role offers the chance to shape a new computing architecture at the intersection of AI and hardware, with impact on how knowledge structures are accessed at machine speed.
Responsibilities- Own and develop runtime, SDK and APIs interfacing with FPGA/ASIC hardware
- Optimize performance, benchmarking and profiling for AI workloads
- Collaborate with FPGA/hardware teams to align software with hardware capabilities
- Develop tooling and SDKs for developers (Python-based)
- Support developer experience and integration of hardware into AI workloads
- Contribute to software-hardware co-design decisions
- Strong experience developing C/C++ software on Linux
- Background in systems software, accelerator runtimes, FPGA, DPU, SmartNIC or custom silicon
- Experience with PCIe, DMA, memory-mapped I/O or similar hardware interfaces
- Experience working closely with FPGA or hardware engineering teams
- Strong understanding of performance optimisation, benchmarking and profiling
- Python experience for SDK development, tooling or automation
- Ideally, experience developing runtime software, SDKs or APIs for novel hardware platforms
