Tax Advisor – Ultra-High-Net-Worth / Family Office
Locations: New York City, Boston, Chicago, Charlotte, or Philadelphia
Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite
Compensation: $350-400k all-in
A premier financial services organization is seeking an experienced Tax Advisor to join its growing multi-family office and private wealth platform. This is a highly client-facing role focused primarily on tax planning, strategy, and advisory for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners, and family offices .
The role sits on a lean, high-caliber tax team and offers an opportunity to move away from the billable-hour environment of public accounting while continuing to advise highly sophisticated clients.
Responsibilities
- Advise UHNW individuals and families on complex income, estate, trust, and entity tax matters
- Develop proactive tax planning strategies designed to optimize after-tax results
- Partner with family office professionals, relationship managers, attorneys, accountants, and external advisors
- Review complex individual and entity tax returns to identify planning opportunities
- Integrate tax strategy into broader estate, investment, cash flow, and wealth planning
- Review financial statements and tax implications for partnerships, corporations, trusts, and private foundations
- Remain hands-on with complex tax matters when needed while focusing primarily on planning and advisory
Qualifications
- 7+ years of UHNW individual tax experience
- Experience advising clients with $50M+ net worth strongly preferred
- CPA strongly preferred; JD or advanced tax credential also considered
- Strong background in complex individual, trust, estate, partnership, and/or family office tax matters
- Excellent client-facing and relationship management skills
- Public accounting, private wealth, or family office experience preferred
