Corporate Tax Manager
Location: Greater Toronto Area, ON (Hybrid) Position Type: Full-time Role Summary
A premier Canadian financial services firm is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to join its Toronto-based finance team. Reporting to the Director of Tax, this role oversees tax compliance, provisions, strategic planning, and audit defense across a multi-entity corporate structure. Key Responsibilities
Oversee quarterly/annual tax provisions, provisions reporting, and corporate income/indirect tax filings. Manage corporate tax audits, revenue authority inquiries, disputes, and transfer pricing requirements. Execute tax minimization strategies aligned with corporate operations and evolving tax law. Provide technical tax advisory support to cross-functional leaders in Finance, Legal, and Operations. Evaluate internal tax workflows to enhance reporting efficiency and risk management. Target Qualifications
Credentials: CPA designation or Master of Taxation required. Completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course preferred. Experience: 5–7+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, ideally blending Big 4 public accounting with in-house financial services exposure. Technical Focus: Deep expertise in Canadian corporate tax legislation, tax accounting principles, complex multi-entity structures, and advanced Excel modeling. Core Strengths: Excellent project management skills, strong cross-functional communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to: the individual’s skill sets, experience and training; licensure and certification requirements; office location and other geographic considerations; other business and organizational needs. Having said that Vaco by Highspring believes that the salary range referenced reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or participation in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s retirement plan (or similar retirement benefits).
