The role combines technical leadership, hands-on development, finance systems expertise, and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate leads delivery, mentors engineers, partners with CFOs and Controllers, and drives modernization across .NET, SQL Server, Azure, Azure DevOps, and SAP-integrated finance applications.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities
- Serve as technical lead and trusted advisor for Finance applications.
- Partner with Controllers, CFOs, Product Owners, and Finance stakeholders.
- Translate technical concepts into business terms for non-technical audiences.
- Apply accounting concepts to explain solutions, prioritize work, and enforce delivery accountability.
- Discuss financial controls, GRC, SOX, General Ledger, and finance processes.
- Lead and mentor development teams while remaining hands-on.
- Own delivery estimates, planning, and realistic timelines with capacity forecasts.
- Review code, approve pull requests, and oversee Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Own deployments and release management.
- Expand and mature the Architecture practice and operate as a Solutions Architect.
- Create and maintain roadmaps, architecture diagrams, future-state designs, and modernization strategies.
- Sign off on architectural decisions and technical designs.
- Re-architect legacy apps to improve data quality, scalability, self-service, security, and operations.
- Support application modernization, lift-and-shift, and cloud hardening.
- Proven experience as a Tech Lead with architecture responsibilities.
- Hands-on development with C#.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server, HTML/CSS.
- Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with MudBlazor or similar UI frameworks for business apps.
- Mandatory SAP experience with strong understanding of SAP architecture and integrations (ECC 6.0 and/or S/4HANA).
- Deep knowledge of Finance and Accounting domains and processes.
- History leading modernization and cloud initiatives.
- Effective communication with CFOs, Controllers, Product Owners, and finance stakeholders.
