Overview

In this role you support and optimize virtual desktop environments as part of the UK Infrastructure Team. You resolve incidents and implement changes for customers, coordinating with project teams and service stakeholders. You will work across Citrix, AVD and related platforms to ensure reliable, responsive user experiences. This is a hybrid, client-facing role in a large IT services organization with a focus on ITIL-aligned processes and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Citrix Onprem & Cloud, AVD and Nerdio
  • Understand and support virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure)
  • Administer Active Directory including GPOs and FsLogix for desktop/profile management
  • Support Citrix systems (Netscaler, XenApp, XenDesktop, Delivery Controllers, Profile Management)
  • Support User Workspace Environments with AppSense/Ivanti/FsLogix
  • Maintain Windows Server ) knowledge
  • Understand certificate renewal processes and certificate chains within Citrix
  • Provide second-line technical troubleshooting and escalation when needed
  • Document system configurations, changes, and SOPs
  • Apply ITIL concepts in day-to-day activities
Key requirements
  • Relevant experience in IT systems administration or engineering roles within large MSPs
  • Expertise in Citrix environments (Citrix Cloud, XenApp, XenDesktop) and VDI solutions
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server (2012–2019) and AD/GPOs
  • Proficiency with AppSense/Ivanti, FsLogix, Netscaler, Delivery Controllers
  • Familiarity with Azure, AVD, Nerdio, and virtualization stacks (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Desirable certifications: Azure Administrator Associate, VCP or equivalent
