Overview

As Technical Advisor, you will lead field service, shutdowns, commissioning and maintenance on OEM fixed plant equipment at customer sites. You will mentor crews, manage diagnostics and troubleshooting, and provide technical advisory to customers. The role emphasizes safety and strong stakeholder engagement, with extensive travel including international assignments. You join a global OEM with a focus on mining equipment and lifecycle solutions, contributing to service operations growth. You help shape uptime, reliability and customer relationships across sites.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate field service, shutdowns, commissioning, and maintenance on OEM equipment
  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, testing, and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems
  • Provide technical advisory services and maintenance planning for customers
  • Supervise and mentor site personnel and contractors during shutdowns and commissioning
  • Interpret technical drawings and schematics to support field execution
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all activities
  • Build customer relationships and identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and improvements
Key requirements
  • Mechanical Fitter, Machinist, or similar trade qualification
  • Experience with fixed plant mining equipment in heavy industry environments
  • Technical advisory experience on OEM equipment (crushers, mills, screens, thickeners, flotation cells, reclaimers, stackers, belt filters, etc.)
  • Strong shutdown and commissioning experience in mining operations
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience in field service
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders
  • Strong customer communication and relationship management skills
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Intermediate computer skills and ability to read technical drawings/schematics
  • Hard rock mining experience highly regarded
