Overview

In this role you will translate complex business requirements into scalable API-centric solutions within an Agile tech team in financial services. You will design, develop, and test JSON APIs, work with microservices, and model systems with UML. You’ll collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable solutions across the full SDLC, embracing DevOps and continuous improvement. This hybrid London role offers on-site 2 days and umbrella contract.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications and solutions
  • Design, develop and test JSON API interfaces, including building from scratch and deploying to test environments
  • Work with microservices architecture to support system integration and distributed development
  • Produce technical designs and UML models documenting system processes and interactions
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to align solutions with business objectives
  • Apply Agile and DevOps methodologies to enable rapid delivery, automation, and continuous improvement
  • Support prototyping, testing, and deployment to ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met
  • Analyze system performance to identify opportunities to improve scalability, reliability, and efficiency
Key requirements
  • Strong experience in Technical Analysis, solution design, requirements gathering and software delivery
  • Experience interpreting, designing, and developing APIs using JSON
  • Ability to build API interfaces from scratch and deploy them for testing
  • Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems
  • Strong understanding of UML modelling in technical analysis and design
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps practices and methodologies
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles, testing, deployment, and automation
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with stakeholder management
