As Technical Author at a leading UK space company in Glasgow, you will craft and refine technical documents to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency across divisions. You will collaborate with engineers to gather information, manage document versioning, and support grant materials. Your work will apply systems engineering principles to gate documents and facilitate delivery across test sites and vehicle assembly. This role offers the chance to contribute to the UK's space launch capability and shape technical communication for critical programs.
Responsibilities- Plan, develop, write, and edit technical documentation (design specifications, test procedures, engineering reports)
- Produce user manuals, data sheets, and technical summaries
- Coordinate with engineering teams to gather and verify information
- Support drafting and reviewing grant applications and related materials
- Manage timelines to meet project delivery schedules
- Apply systems engineering principles to manage gate documents
- Oversee engineering drawing management, version control, and standardisation
- Collaborate with teams across test sites, operations, and vehicle assembly
- Engineering degree (Aerospace, Mechanical, or similar)
- 3+ years of technical writing in an engineering environment
- Understanding of systems engineering and document management processes
- Experience performing gap analyses to improve documentation systems
- Skilled at gathering and synthesising information from subject matter experts
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Valid passport and right to work in the UK
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
