Technical Business Analyst

In this role, you’ll bridge business needs and technical design within a retail tech transformation. You’ll work with solution architects, engineering leads and delivery managers to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose and not over-engineered. You’ll engage in solution design early, focusing on APIs and system integration. You’ll help shape data flows and models while ensuring requirements align with the SDLC. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that combines analysis, architecture review and storytelling through epics and user stories.

• Review solution proposals and architecture, flag concerns and propose simpler alternatives
• Assess technical, business and change impacts of proposed solutions and integrations
• Identify edge cases, functional gaps and logic flaws before delivery
• Document current and future state processes, including data flows and data models
• Review business and non-functional requirements and push back where needed
• Write epics and user stories to provide clear, actionable requirements for engineering teams
• Collaborate with business, architecture, delivery and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle

• Strong understanding of APIs and system integration
• Ability to read and critique technical designs and architectures
• Experience with SQL and data flows
• Experience with Agile delivery and full SDLC
• Comfort with making reasonable assumptions when unclear
• Retail, e-commerce or customer-journey experience is useful but not required
