Overview

As Technical Delivery Director at Deltatre, you own end-to-end delivery for a portfolio of client programmes, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and quality. You lead six delivery squads (40–45 engineers) and mentor senior engineers, prioritising delivery outcomes over hands-on coding. You balance client engagement with governance, escalation management, and cross-functional collaboration to scale delivery capabilities. This role offers high-impact work shaping OTT streaming experiences for major brands with a strong delivery and architecture focus.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end delivery of client programmes, including scoping, forecasts, launches, and ongoing delivery runs
  • Report delivery status across squads and dependencies to stakeholders
  • Maintain high delivery standards (Definition of Ready/Done, code contribution processes)
  • Lead six delivery squads, set priorities, remove blockers, and manage capacity
  • Forecast and mitigate key-person risk; justify additional squad capacity
  • Mentor engineers, review outputs, and model strong engineering discipline
  • Govern governance practices across Delivery Directors and Project Managers and liaise with Product Management
  • Build and maintain technical relationships with clients and handle escalations proactively
Key requirements
  • 10+ years in software engineering with a solid foundation in Java, React Native, or JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Delivery accountability for large-scale programmes, ideally OTT/streaming or media tech
  • Experience leading through other technical/delivery leaders and developing them
  • Solution architecture experience across digital platforms
  • Senior client-facing credibility with fixed-date escalation management
  • Commercial mindset: margin, fixed-price vs T&M, supplier mix
  • Ability to work with a technical-authority peer while maintaining boundaries
  • Agile delivery experience adapted to fixed-date commitments
