As a Technical Design Lead in our data centre group, you will steer the design and delivery of hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise projects across Europe. You’ll manage diverse design teams, ensure technical excellence, and sustain strong client relations on fast-paced engagements. This client-facing role offers cross-border travel and opportunities for career progression within a globally connected engineering community. You will shape complex outcomes by aligning design with client requirements and local permitting.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams across UKI and Europe (Architecture, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Security, Fire Protection, ICT, BMS/EPMS)
  • Oversee all phases of data centre projects from due diligence to construction documentation
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality design outputs meeting client requirements and timelines
  • Identify and mitigate project risks early with innovative, practical solutions
  • Support Sector and Commercial teams on governance, compliance and risk mitigation
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships and interface with Client CAM
  • Present to clients and stakeholders with timely, high-quality outputs
  • Collaborate with design and local delivery teams to ensure localisation and permitting compliance
  • Respond to client requirements in a timely manner
Key requirements
  • Chartered Engineer or Architect (or equivalent professional qualification)
  • Extensive experience in data centre design and/or project management
  • Proven track record leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex data centre projects
  • Strong understanding of permitting processes, building systems, regulations, and construction methodologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Willingness to travel as required
