Overview

As Technical Director, you will lead technical strategy across Tétris London's workplace Design & Build projects, ensuring robust, compliant and deliverable design solutions. You will oversee from early design through construction, manage technical risks, coordinate information, and safeguard quality, schedule and commercial outcomes. You’ll control design fees with in-house tools and mentor the team while raising technical standards. This role shapes high-quality interiors for London offices and ongoing project delivery excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership across Design & Build workplace projects and ensure robust, compliant solutions
  • Oversee design development from tender through construction and handover, managing technical risks
  • Coordinate design information, support buildability, and maintain quality, programme and commercial objectives
  • Manage design fees financially using in-house monitoring tools; ensure accurate recording, monitoring and invoicing
  • Identify and address scope or fee changes in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain technical standards, processes and best practices
  • Mentor and provide technical direction to the wider team
  • Collaborate with Design, Pre-Construction and Commercial teams and with senior leadership to improve delivery and quality
Key requirements
  • Significant experience in a Design & Build contractor, construction company or commercial interiors
  • Extensive experience delivering workplace interior projects in London
  • Proven technical leadership across multiple projects and teams
  • Experience taking projects from design development to construction and completion
  • Experience coordinating design information to ensure it is complete, compliant and buildable
  • Experience identifying technical risks and coordinating solutions early
  • Experience working with designers, project managers, commercial teams and subcontractors
  • Experience supporting tender/pre-construction activities including value engineering
  • Experience managing technical queries and changes during construction
  • Experience establishing and implementing technical standards, processes and quality controls
  • Experience mentoring technical team members and collaborating with senior leadership
  • Strong communication and ability to explain technical matters to technical and non-technical stakeholders
