Overview

In this role you will lead bioenergy, AD, biomethane and EfW projects from concept through commissioning within a multidisciplinary Process Engineering team. You will build client relationships, drive proposals and business development, and mentor engineers, while coordinating delivery with contractors and cross-functional colleagues. The position offers UK and occasional international exposure, with a culture that values collaboration and growth. You will shape high-profile projects that advance sustainable waste-to-energy initiatives and circular economy goals.

Responsibilities
  • Originate and lead bioenergy, AD, biomethane and EfW projects across the full lifecycle
  • Deliver concept designs, feasibility studies, technical assessments and technical due diligence
  • Develop client relationships, prepare proposals and support business development
  • Mentor and develop engineers and consultants within the team
  • Support procurement, contract management, construction, commissioning and operational troubleshooting
  • Work across office, home-based and site-based settings in the UK and internationally
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering, Advisory, Environmental Management & Compliance, Land & Water, and Environmental Specialist Services teams
Key requirements
  • Extensive experience in anaerobic digestion, biomethane, EfW, waste processing, recycling or related sectors
  • Degree in Engineering, Biochemistry or related discipline
  • Proven track record of originating, winning and managing technical projects in consultancy, operations or construction
  • Experience delivering concept designs, feasibility studies, technical assessments, due diligence and contract management
  • Strong numeracy, data analysis and financial modelling capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with strong report-writing skills
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering or consultancy teams
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and business development skills
  • Chartered Engineer status or progress towards chartership (desirable)
  • Relevant Master’s degree (desirable)
  • Experience working on site with H&S and CDM Regulations (desirable)
