Overview

As Mechanical Director in our Data Centres Market Sector, you will lead a multidisciplinary CA team across the UK, shaping delivery for hyperscale and co-location projects. You’ll drive work winning, client management and thought leadership to strengthen AECOM’s position in EMEA and globally. You’ll partner with global colleagues to orchestrate complex, multi-discipline designs and ensure on-time, quality delivery. This is a growth-focused role in a fast-evolving sector offering high-impact projects and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Data Centre CA team across multiple disciplines
  • Coordinate Principal Designer/Responsible Designer interface during construction with AHJs and GCs
  • Provide multi-discipline, site-based design and construction-stage services to accommodate changes
  • Maintain consistent, cross-project CA services across varied GCs and client reps
  • Ensure deliverables are fully developed and meet diverse client needs
  • Engage in Work Winning and Business Development to generate MEP solutions for the DC sector
  • Provide programme management and commercial oversight for major projects
  • Monitor project risk and apply mitigation strategies to KPIs
Key requirements
  • Strong track record delivering Mechanical or Electrical projects in Data Centres and Mission Critical environments
  • Experience leading DC project streams in UK and preferably across EMEA
  • Demonstrated client-facing and business development experience
  • Proven team leadership and development capability
  • Deep knowledge of Mechanical or Electrical design and how it interfaces with clients
  • Strong commercial and financial management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Solid financial understanding to drive project success
