Overview

In this role you act as the primary technical contact for gas compression within the Ellon Service Centre. You provide expert guidance to workshop teams, support the engineering group, and communicate technical findings to customers. You will engage with cross-functional teams, attend customer meetings, and aid in failure investigations and repair strategy. The position offers opportunities to influence repair approaches, share knowledge, and uphold high quality and safety standards in a globally recognized service environment.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary technical focal point for gas compression activities in the service centre
  • Provide technical guidance on repair methods, procedures and best practices to workshop teams
  • Support the wider engineering team in optimal work execution
  • Troubleshoot complex repair and operational issues
  • Liaise with engineering colleagues and technical specialists as needed
  • Attend customer meetings as technical representative for gas compression projects
  • Accompany customers during witness testing with technical advice
  • Present findings, recommendations and repair solutions to customers
  • Build strong customer relationships through technical support and expertise
  • Review workshop findings and recommend repair solutions
  • Participate in failure investigations at service centres and customer sites
  • Deliver technical advice, coaching and training to internal teams
Key requirements
  • Significant experience with gas compression equipment
  • Experience in rotating equipment or turbomachinery
  • Understanding of vibration analysis and machinery diagnostics
  • Experience preparing technical reports and presenting engineering recommendations
  • Knowledge of repair methodologies and failure investigation practices
  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Ability to engage with customers and present technical information
