Overview

In this role you will lead the design and delivery of cloud-based Java applications, guiding a cross-functional team through large-scale transformational projects. You contribute to architecture, coding, testing, and documentation while shaping secure, scalable solutions. You will collaborate with stakeholders across Version 1 and client teams, mentor juniors, and drive best practices in an agile environment. This position offers growth within a fast-expanding Digital Data & Cloud Practice and the opportunity to influence cloud-based transformation at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain cloud-based software applications
  • Provide technical leadership to coordinate and deliver scalable, secure solutions
  • Work within an agile delivery methodology
  • Own product/design aspects including estimation, shaping and user story creation
  • Document solutions (architecture, configuration, release, support-handover)
  • Collaborate with Version 1 and customer stakeholders across the SDLC
  • Communicate technical designs clearly to diverse audiences
  • Mentor and develop junior team members
  • Foster a positive, collaborative team environment
Key requirements
  • Deep understanding of coding best practices and modern architectural patterns (microservices, message-driven)
  • Hands-on coding experience with: Frontend (JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, React); Backend (Node.js, Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate)
  • Experience with non-functional requirements (NFRs) and TDD
  • Experience developing REST-based APIs
  • Strong DevOps/CI/CD experience (Jenkins, Ansible, Packer, Docker)
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift
  • Experience deploying on AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, EC2); AWS Developer/Solutions Architect certification preferred
  • Ability to lead stakeholder engagements and mentor team members
  • Strong communication and ability to convey complex designs simply
