Overview

In this UK-based Technical Lead role, you steer the technical direction for a composable stack delivering enterprise web properties. You will lead architecture decisions, coordinate cross-functional teams, and maintain high standards in accessibility, SEO, and performance. You’ll work closely with clients to translate goals into deliverable technical plans while managing risk and trade-offs. This hands-on position emphasizes responsible AI-assisted development, migrations, and robust integrations to scale multi-brand properties. You’ll be a visible technical voice and mentor within a global team.

Responsibilities
  • Define and own the team's architecture across the composable stack
  • Select headless CMS, frontend framework, and hosting based on trade-offs
  • Design scalable content models and components for multiple brands/sites/regions
  • Enforce coding standards through code reviews and testing; ensure CI/CD and QA readiness
  • Establish security, accessibility, performance, and SEO standards (WCAG 2.2 AA, Core Web Vitals)
  • Lead migrations from legacy CMS to headless architectures including content audits and redirects
  • Oversee AI-assisted development while maintaining code quality and governance
  • Plan content/platform migrations with automation pipelines (n8n, Make, etc.) and API design
  • Document architecture, decisions, and best practices; enable knowledge sharing
  • Mentor and delegate tasks to the team; manage client communications for technical aspects
  • Identify and communicate technical risks early; ensure predictable delivery against milestones
Key requirements
  • 8+ years in software development
  • 2+ years leading a team's technical direction
  • Proven track record delivering corporate/enterprise-scale web properties
  • Ability to translate technical vision into actionable plans
  • Excellent communication with non-technical audiences
