Overview

In this role you will lead technical delivery for a new API-focused product within HSBC’s CTO Developer Platforms. You’ll shape API standards, ensure compliance, and provide end-to-end, customer-centered outcomes. You’ll explore AI opportunities and mentor delivery teams to elevate engineering practices. Responsibilities
  • Act as a key technical leader overseeing delivery from inception to completion
  • Shape and refine the bank’s API standards, gathering customer feedback and iterating
  • Lead product planning and prioritisation aligned to the API standards and tooling vision
  • Align and communicate product roadmaps with customers at the centre of change
  • Explore AI opportunities and integrate AI review feedback into standards assessments
  • Champion the use of data and metrics to understand and improve customer outcomes
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams; promote best practices and continuous learning
  • Be a proactive, collaborative and inquisitive member of the Standards and Controls leadership team
Key requirements
  • Extensive hands-on software development across multiple languages/frameworks
  • Strong grounding in software fundamentals (design patterns, data structures, algorithms, architecture)
  • Experience applying AI to software development patterns/processes at scale
  • Proven leadership skills (guiding teams, creating a productive environment)
  • Product/project management capability (planning, resourcing, delivery)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges
  • Experience working in a control environment or with Technology controls
  • Experience working in a global organisation with distributed teams and strong collaboration skills
