Technical Lead Software Engineer - .NET / Azure / Terraform

+ 6 month contract

+ £450 to £500 per day

+ Hybrid working from Leeds

Location: Hybrid - occasional client-site visits to Leeds/London

A leading public sector organisation is seeking a Tech Lead Software Engineer to lead the redevelopment of the (url removed) Profiles Manager and supporting services.

This is a hands‑on technical leadership role, requiring strong software engineering, architecture and cloud experience. You will provide technical direction while remaining close to the code, working with engineers and architects to deliver secure, scalable and maintainable services and APIs.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong C# / .NET software engineering experience.
• Technical leadership of distributed systems, microservices and REST APIs.
• Strong Microsoft Azure experience.
• GitHub Actions, CI/CD and Terraform.
• Technical architecture and design decision-making.
• AI-assisted development, including GitHub Copilot and coding agents.
• Secure development, automated testing, observability and production support.
• Experience with technical risk, delivery, mentoring and stakeholder management.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Hands‑on approach with the ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.

• Docker / containerisation.
• Azure API Management.
