Overview
As Technical Lead EOL Ultimate, you guide End of Line vehicle completion with broad expertise across mechanical, electrical, software and trim systems. You will lead complex issue rectification, coordinate cross-functional support, and raise technician capability through coaching. You’ll influence vehicle progression by delivering clear technical guidance and empowering teams to resolve concerns. This role sits at the heart of Ultimate Vehicle Assembly, shaping reliability and quality at scale.

- Act as a technical specialist for Ultimate Vehicle Assembly with a broad vehicle systems understanding.
- Provide guidance to Technicians and Principal Technicians on complex concerns.
- Diagnose causes using product knowledge and diagnostics to determine effective rectification.
- Understand vehicle specs, customer options and system interactions.
- Lead investigation and rectification of complex concerns through to resolution.
- Coordinate support from Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality and other specialists.
- Prioritise issues based on vehicle requirements, production needs and customer expectations.
- Escalate recurring concerns and ensure follow-up.
- Provide technical recommendations to support progression and prevent repeat repairs.
- Serve as central technical contact for complex issues within Ultimate Vehicle Assembly.
- Communicate concerns, findings, risks and actions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication across EOL, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and supporting functions.
- Provide updates to Group Leader/Manager on significant issues and risks.
- Develop Technicians through coaching, mentoring and on-the-job training.
- Share knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, build standards and rectification methods.
- Identify knowledge gaps and support appropriate training and development.
- Capture learning from complex concerns to improve team capability.
- Act as a technical role model for diagnostic skills, quality and ownership.
- Support the introduction of new Ultimate vehicles, derivatives, systems and options.
- Develop product knowledge ahead of new vehicle introduction and transfer learnings to EOL.
- Collaborate with Engineering and launch teams on new technologies and diagnostic requirements.
- Support creation and improvement of technical work instructions and guidance.
- Significant automotive manufacturing or EOL experience with diagnostics or vehicle validation.
- Broad knowledge of complete vehicle systems across multiple disciplines.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, electronic, software and vehicle functionality knowledge.
- Proven ability to diagnose and rectify complex vehicle concerns.
- Experience coordinating technical issues across multiple functions.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex issues clearly.
- Demonstrable coaching, mentoring and training experience.
- Experience in low-volume, high-complexity or highly specified production is advantageous.
