Responsibilities
  • Lead technical teams and define strategy/architecture for multiple services
  • Contribute hands-on coding and participate in design and development
  • Ensure best practices, quality assurance, and code reviews across services
  • Oversee full lifecycle delivery from analysis to QA and implementation
  • Mentor developers and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture
  • Coordinate with Product, UCD, and Delivery teams and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Translate customer requirements into technical designs and deliverables
  • Drive process optimisation and maintain high-quality end products
Key requirements
  • Experience leading technical teams with ability to define strategy and architecture
  • Full-stack/backend background with Python and TypeScript; cloud infra with AWS or Azure and Terraform IaC
  • Experience delivering UK Government digital services with GDS/NHS Service Standard
  • Strong collaborative leadership across multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to balance technical, user, and business needs in decisions
  • User-centred mindset with prioritisation of research and design in development lifecycle
  • Excellent communication skills, including presenting to non-technical audiences
  • Proven track record in QA, code reviews, and process optimisation across multiple services
  • Experience leading projects end-to-end, managing diverse stakeholders, translating requirements into designs
  • Full lifecycle delivery experience from analysis through QA
  • Mentoring/coaching of developers and fostering a high-performing team

  • Willingness to travel to client sites in the UK and right to work in the UK
