Overview
In this hands-on Technical Lead role, you will actively contribute to the codebase while guiding a growing engineering team. You’ll split time between development (about 60%) and leadership (about 40%), with a clear path to greater leadership as the team expands. You join at a pivotal stage, shaping technical direction as in-house development and platform transition mature. You’ll own architecture and strategic decisions, set coding standards, and drive infrastructure and DevSecOps readiness in collaboration with leadership.

- Lead and mentor a team that grows from 4 to 6 engineers
- Architect and drive strategic technical decisions across the platform
- Conduct code reviews and establish engineering standards
- Oversee platform transition from external partner to in-house
- Manage infrastructure and DevSecOps elements during transition
- Communicate technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders and align with business goals
- Strong commercial Java experience, 3+ years on high-volume applications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience leading or mentoring engineers
- Ownership of architecture and end-to-end technical decisions
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, containers, and DevSecOps
- Familiarity with TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL
- Proven ability to lead through challenging delivery scenarios (failed releases, debt, migrations)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to tie technical decisions to commercial outcomes
