Overview

As Lead for Product Data & Telemetry, you will architect a single source of truth for product measurement and telemetry. You’ll define canonical metrics, data contracts and governance to enable consistent insights across a 30-product portfolio. You’ll work with product, engineering and analytics leaders to instrument, validate and roll out a federated data model that informs reviews at executive level. This is a hands-on, senior IC role focused on shaping the product analytics stack and data governance at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Design and own the product measurement standard across business units
  • Define data contracts and telemetry schemas for engineering teams
  • Write instrumentation specifications and land telemetry against the data contract
  • Build analytics and data models (SQL, BI, roll-up logic) for portfolio-level insights
  • Own data quality assurance (coverage, freshness, reconciliation) for regular reviews
  • Set technical standards for BU-aligned analysts and scale adoption
  • Shape the product analytics stack (capture, warehouse, BI) to align tooling and measurement
Key requirements
  • Proven experience designing and governing product data models and taxonomies in a multi-product estate
  • Strong data governance practice including schema ownership and change control
  • Fluency in SQL and experience with BI/data-warehouse layers
  • Ability to design event/telemetry schemas and write instrumentation specs (Pendo, Amplitude, Segment or similar)
  • Experience establishing a data contract or metrics layer in a product/analytics context (preferably B2B SaaS)
  • Credibility to influence without direct authority across engineering and product teams
