Overview

As Technical Product Owner – Equity Calculation and Data, you shape enhancements for the equity index calculation platform and its data capabilities. You’ll connect business needs with data flows, operational workflows, and technology delivery within the Equity value stream. Working with cross-functional teams, you’ll translate requirements, refine the backlog, and drive automation and simplification of legacy processes. Your influence spans multiple stakeholders to enable scalable, reliable platform delivery. This role offers impact by improving data quality and efficiency in index production and governance.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Value Stream Lead on roadmap input, prioritisation, and delivery planning
  • Elicit and translate business requirements into epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Own and manage the agile backlog in Azure DevOps (ADO) with clear priorities for delivery
  • Gather requirements and understand dependencies across Index Management, R&D, Operations, Technology, and Data Platform
  • Translate complex concepts for diverse audiences and act as the boundary between business and tech
  • Support agile ceremonies: refinement, planning, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Perform hands-on UAT to validate delivered functionality against requirements
  • Assess embedded and legacy data processes in T3 and identify automation opportunities to reduce manual effort
  • Use analytical judgement to compare options, recommend solutions, and secure stakeholder buy-in
  • Identify cross-platform dependencies and coordinate with other Product Owners to avoid fragmentation
  • Support longer-term platform evolution while balancing stability and continuity
  • Contribute expertise to uplift team knowledge and model company values
Key requirements
  • Experience as Product Owner, Business Analyst, or hybrid PO/BA in an agile environment
  • Strong understanding of index products, calculation workflows, and operations
  • Experience with data-heavy platforms involving ingestion, validation, transformation, and quality
  • Ability to discuss technical topics and translate them into actionable items
  • Experience managing backlogs using Azure DevOps or equivalent
  • Strong analytical skills to assess requirements and dependencies
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building across teams
  • Ability to operate with incomplete or changing information and propose options
  • Excellent written and verbal communication within specialist business or technology areas
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work and manage priorities with input from the wider team
