Overview

As Technical Product Owner for Hardware Engineering Environments, you steer secure, modern engineering tools for Thales UK hardware engineers. You work within an agile team to maximise value delivered by the development and deployment squads and ensure environments stay fit for purpose. You bridge hardware users, portfolio governance, and delivery teams while shaping technical architecture and governance. This role offers the chance to influence how hardware design tooling evolves across secure networks and cloud platforms, delivering meaningful impact at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Own and prioritise the product backlog for the engineering environments team
  • Define requirements, acceptance criteria and feature priorities
  • Validate and approve completed features
  • Collect user feedback through reviews and continuous engagement
  • Lead evolution, consolidation and migration of hardware engineering applications
  • Align UK toolsets with Thales Group roadmaps
  • Define and deliver modern engineering environment solutions across secure networks and cloud platforms
  • Drive retirement of legacy tools and reduction of technical debt
  • Plan data migration, retention or archiving
  • Make technical and product decisions for the area
  • Ensure tooling, processes, and infrastructure work together effectively
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Technical Leads, Portfolio Managers and Delivery Managers to deliver broader strategy
Key requirements
  • Practical experience in a hardware engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of hardware engineering processes and best practice
  • Experience defining, architecting, implementing or managing engineering development environments
  • Ability to translate user needs into technical solutions
  • Experience prioritising work and coordinating delivery across technical teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
