Overview

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead multi-disciplinary initiatives to optimize data center operations. You partner with Data Center Operations to capture operator needs, communicate with engineering, and drive telemetry-driven improvements. You’ll monitor equipment performance using BMS, EPMS, and SCADA dashboards, identify risks and gaps, and translate findings into actionable work. You will design training, produce user-friendly docs, and support onboarding to expand tool adoption. This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and scalable, data-informed solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Establish continuous feedback loops with Data Center Operations; gather feature requests and pain points
  • Advocate for operators and communicate needs to engineering
  • Monitor equipment performance using BMS, EPMS, and SCADA dashboards; detect anomalies and risks
  • Feed findings back to teams to drive tool utilization and improvements
  • Design and deliver technical training on tools and telemetry
  • Create clear documentation, quick-start guides, and communication plans
  • Facilitate onboarding for new operators
  • Engage with internal teams (e.g., Sustainability, Capacity Planning) to map data streams to business needs
  • Understand business requirements and align telemetry datasets with tooling capabilities
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management, leading multi-disciplinary projects
  • Experience with BMS controls and SCADA systems
  • Experience in facilities operations for data center operations or other critical facilities (airport, hospital, defense)
