Technical Service Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead on-site engineering and technical services for a London-based facilities site, ensuring top-tier M&E performance, safety, and sustainability while delivering excellent client experience. You will manage engineers, contractors, and partners to drive operational excellence and compliance within JLL standards and ESG objectives. The position offers meaningful impact by shaping building performance and energy strategies in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You will work closely with facilities, consultancy, and client teams to align with corporate goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, BMS/EMS, and smart building systems
  • Lead on-site engineering teams and service partners to meet KPIs and standards
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, regulations and environmental requirements
  • Support sustainability, energy optimisation and carbon reduction strategies
  • Manage lifecycle maintenance, preventative programs, and service charge budgeting
  • Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement and innovation
  • Respond to emergencies and provide technical problem-solving support
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, SOPs, and asset records
  • Manage contractors and consultants to meet service levels and safety standards
  • Assist with procurement and financial processes, including budget monitoring and cost efficiency initiatives
  • Foster a collaborative, One Team culture across service lines and stakeholders
  • Support training, succession planning, and performance development

Key requirements
  • Significant experience in engineering, technical services, or building services management in commercial property or facilities management
  • Strong understanding of M&E systems, HVAC, BMS/EMS, CAFM systems, and intelligent building technologies
  • Proven experience managing facilities services, contractors, and delivering against KPIs
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance, building regulations, and health and safety legislation
  • Experience supporting sustainability, energy management, and ESG objectives
  • Commercial awareness with budgets, service contracts, and OPEX
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proven leadership of technical teams in a customer-focused environment
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with mult-priority handling
  • Willingness to support out-of-hours operations; professional engineering qualification or relevant certification desirable
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications desirable
