Overview

In this role you design and deliver large-scale, multi-vendor core networking solutions that span underlay, carrier services, and traffic engineering. You work with cross-functional teams to craft compelling designs, BOMs, and PoCs, and you publish technical content to establish market leadership. You will lead design sessions with customers and mentors, ensuring solutions align with customer outcomes. This role offers direct customer impact and opportunities to influence core networking strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Architect multi-vendor Core Networking solutions across Underlay Transport, Carrier Services, and Traffic Engineering for service providers, enterprises, and public sector clients
  • Develop Bills of Materials with cross-vendor equivalencies to support proposed solutions
  • Present designs and BOM rationale to technical and executive stakeholders, lead workshops and briefings, support RFP/RFI responses
  • Design and deploy hands-on lab builds in the Advanced Technology Center and scope/execute customer PoC engagements with defined success criteria
  • Publish technical content to establish WWT as a market leader; maintain OEM certifications and vendor relationships; mentor customers and WWT teams on core networking technologies
Key requirements
  • 8+ years of experience delivering complex networking solutions
  • Deep hands-on expertise in interior routing, SR-MPLS/SRv6, BGP/EVPN carrier services, traffic engineering, and converged optical & packet networking
  • Experience on at least one major platform (Cisco IOS XR, Junos, or Nokia SR OS)
  • Expert-level knowledge equivalent to Cisco CCIE Service Provider, HPE/JNCIE-SP, or Nokia SRA
  • Strong technical writing and publish-ready content abilities
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently on long-term architectural engagements and cross-functional teams
  • Presentation & messaging: translating multi-vendor designs for technical and executive audiences
  • Requirements discovery: identifying true customer needs
  • Cross-Technical domain collaboration: uniting expertise from multiple teams
  • Multi-vendor fluency beyond primary platform (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia)
  • Experience with OEM network management/automation platforms (Cisco Crosswork, Juniper Routing Director, Nokia NSP)
  • Security adjacency MPLS/VPN hardening; BGP RPKI/route validation; PQC routing
