Overview

In this role you will design, develop and support data and BI platforms underpinning national health and care reporting. You’ll work across AWS, Denodo, Snowflake, Tableau and Power BI to deliver scalable data solutions. You’ll help maintain system stability, security and performance while shaping the technical roadmap. The position blends hands-on delivery with mentoring and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Technical design, development and implementation of complex data, integration and BI solutions
  • Provide specialist technical support across platforms such as AWS, Denodo, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, Business Objects and other enterprise tools
  • Support management of platform environments including configuration, upgrades, security controls and performance tuning
  • Contribute to service improvement, maintaining operational stability and supporting ongoing platform development
  • Contribute to technical strategy and roadmap planning, including evaluation of emerging technologies
  • Mentor and develop other technical staff across the data and analytics service

Key requirements
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing data, BI, or analytics solutions including pipelines and ETL/ELT
  • Strong technical capability with SQL and preferably Python, plus cloud and modern data architecture concepts
  • Experience with data warehouses and enterprise BI tools, data modelling and integration approaches
  • Ability to translate complex requirements into effective technical solutions in both independent and team settings
  • Experience supporting and maintaining data/analytics platforms including stability, security and improvement
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Experience in structured delivery environments (Agile or DevOps) with plans and milestones
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset with troubleshooting experience
