Technical Support Engineer – Farnborough

We’re recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer to join an established technology business in Farnborough.
This is a varied technical role supporting a mix of hardware, software, networking and Linux/Unix-based systems , including specialist camera technology and associated back-office systems.
The role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Installing and configuring hardware and software
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical faults
- Supporting Linux/Unix-based devices and systems
- Using Linux / shell commands to query and diagnose equipment
- Troubleshooting networking issues, including TCP/IP and network ports
- Supporting specialist/proprietary software and systems
- Investigating issues between remote devices and back-office systems
- Speaking directly with customers to resolve technical problems
- Producing clear technical documentation
- Escalating more complex issues where required
What we’re looking for
Ideally, you’ll have experience in Technical Support, Systems Support, Infrastructure Support or 2nd Line Support , with exposure to:
- Linux or Unix
- Shell / command-line troubleshooting
- Hardware and software installation/configuration
