Technical Support Trainee - Hardware

About the Role

Our client is seeking individuals with a passion for hardware to join as Technical Support Trainees specializing in hardware support in Kimberley . This apprenticeship provides hands‑on experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware and related peripherals. You will work closely with our experienced technical team, diagnosing and resolving hardware issues for our users. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy troubleshooting physical components and building a career in hardware support.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in diagnosing and resolving hardware faults and failures.
• Perform installations, upgrades, and replacements of computer hardware components.
• Maintain and repair a range of IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Conduct routine hardware maintenance and diagnostic checks.
• Manage hardware inventory and track repair status.
• Provide end-user support for hardware-related issues.

Requirements

• Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
• A strong interest in computer hardware and electronics.
• Basic understanding of computer components and their functions.
• Good troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills related to physical components.
• Ability to follow technical procedures and documentation.
• Willingness to learn and develop hardware repair skills.
