Technology Assurance Manager – Shape Technology Governance

We are partnering with a leading international organisation operating across a complex, multi-divisional environment to recruit a Technology Assurance Manager .

This is a high-visibility role responsible for owning and continuously improving the group-wide Technology Controls & Assurance Framework , strengthening governance, assurance and technology risk management across the organisation.

Working closely with technology leadership, divisional CIO teams, cyber security, internal audit and business stakeholders, you’ll ensure controls are practical, measurable, proportionate and aligned to business needs .

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously enhance the Technology Controls & Assurance Framework, including policies, standards, controls, maturity models and reporting metrics.
  • Design and operate second-line assurance across non-cyber technology controls.
  • Oversee control exceptions, monitoring and improvement activity.
  • Define evidence requirements and maturity assessment methodologies.
  • Analyse assurance and audit findings to identify recurring risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Align internal audit activity with the Technology Controls Framework.
  • Support annual technology risk reviews and self-assessment programmes.
  • Produce clear reporting on control maturity, compliance and technology risk trends.
  • Manage framework governance, change control, publication and communications.
  • Build strong relationships across technology, cyber security, audit and divisional teams, driving accountability and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience across technology assurance, risk, governance, IT controls or IT audit within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of recognised frameworks including NIST, COBIT, ISO 27001 and ITIL .
  • Experience operating within a Three Lines of Defence model.
  • Proven experience designing, assessing or managing technology control and assurance frameworks.
  • Experience working with internal and/or external audit functions.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to translate complex control requirements into practical, measurable standards.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving capabilities.

Desirable: Experience within a federated, multinational, manufacturing, engineering or operationally focused environment; knowledge of cyber security controls and assurance; exposure to GRC and audit management platforms; and experience supporting enterprise-wide risk and compliance programmes.
