Key Responsibilities of the Legal Technology Consultant

  • Partner with client stakeholders - Work directly with clients to understand their operational challenges and shape practical technology use cases.
  • Design fit-for-purpose solutions - Identify where technology and process change can improve efficiency and support wider business goals.
  • Support software implementation - Work alongside vendors and internal teams to configure and roll out new systems and platforms.
  • Lead system integrations - Take ownership of connecting different software solutions to ensure smooth data flow and connectivity.
  • Track emerging technology trends - Monitor developments across the market that could shape future service delivery and client offerings.

Skills & Attributes of the Legal Technology Consultant

  • Technical consulting background - Around two to three years' experience in a technical role, ideally supported by a degree in computer science or a related discipline.
  • Versatile, fast-paced mindset - Comfortable balancing client consulting, project delivery and a constantly evolving technology environment.
  • Hands-on implementation skills - Practical, hands-on experience of system design, integration and solution implementation.
  • Strong relationship builder - Skilled at building effective working relationships across a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Cloud and coding knowledge - Good working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, along with programming languages including Python and SQL.
