Technology Lead - AWS, Java (Outside IR35/Remote)

Remote (UK based candidates only) Initial 6-Month Contract £450 pd Outside IR35 Possibility for extension

We're looking for an experienced Technology Lead to drive a major AWS cloud modernisation programme, transforming legacy Java applications into scalable, secure, cloud-native solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role combining architecture, software engineering, DevOps, database expertise and stakeholder engagement.

You’ll lead the design and delivery of modern AWS-based platforms, guide engineering teams, shape technical strategy and act as a trusted advisor throughout the transformation journey.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years experience with AWS cloud architecture
  • Hands-on expertise with ECS, Fargate, Lambda & API Gateway
  • 10+ years professional experience in Java, Spring Boot & REST APIs
  • Experience building microservices and serverless solutions
  • Strong knowledge of DynamoDB and PostgreSQL/Aurora PostgreSQL
  • Hands-on CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, Docker & Terraform
  • Experience with cloud migration and application modernisation
  • Strong stakeholder management and technical leadership skills
