In this Technology Lead role, you will shape and deliver digital technologies for data linkage and architecture within Wellcome’s Discovery team. You’ll align projects with strategic goals, influence cross‑team priorities, and foster external collaborations to maximise impact in health research. You’ll guide funding activities and ensure compliant, high‑quality outcomes while promoting an inclusive, high‑performing culture. This is a chance to drive data‑driven discovery at scale within a leading health science foundation.
Responsibilities- Lead development and delivery of data linkage, data architecture and digital technology projects aligned with Wellcome's strategy
- Identify and shape opportunities using insights from diverse disciplines and partners
- Align Discovery initiatives with shared objectives and build external research collaborations
- Provide expert technical advice to shape a coherent portfolio of digital technologies across funding areas
- Design and manage funding activities (landscaping, calls, contracts, awards) ensuring evidence-based, compliant decisions
- Foster collaborative, inclusive culture; manage resources, risks, and delivery within budgets and policies
- Knowledge of current state and trends in data linkage, data architecture and digital technologies in science and health research
- Training in a quantitative, computational discipline with understanding of relevant data and software systems
- Experience delivering complex work with health‑relevant or scientific data in large organisations; managing projects with universities, funders and research communities
