Overview

In this role you will design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks to raise software quality across UI, API, and backend layers. You will collaborate with developers, product owners and DevOps to embed quality into the SDLC and support reliable releases. You will drive automation coverage, participate in test planning, and advocate best practices in CI/CD and quality engineering. Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing
  • Identify automation-worthy test scenarios and maximize automation coverage
  • Create automated test scripts using Java or Python
  • Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and system testing
  • Execute automated and limited manual tests when needed
  • Contribute to requirement analysis, test planning, and test strategy discussions
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices
  • Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines and support shift-left quality checks
  • Collaborate with DevOps to enable containerized and cloud-based test execution
  • Work in Agile/Scrum environments and provide transparent test metrics and quality insights
  • Mentor junior QA/Automation engineers and pursue continuous improvement
Key requirements
  • 5+ years in test automation / SDET roles
  • Strong programming skills in Java or Python
  • Experience with UI automation tools: Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress
  • Strong API automation using REST Assured, Postman, or similar
  • Knowledge of BDD/TDD frameworks (Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, PyTest)
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with Git and version control workflows
  • Working knowledge of SQL and database testing
  • Experience testing microservices and distributed systems
  • Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Experience with Docker and containers; Kubernetes is a plus
  • Understanding of performance and security testing basics (JMeter, OWASP concepts)
