Test Automation Engineer

In this contract role, you will design and maintain automated test frameworks for cloud data pipelines and applications to ensure accuracy, reliability, and release readiness. You will work within a cross-functional team to embed testing into CI/CD, and you will validate data and quality across pipelines. This position focuses on building robust Pytest-based tests and data validation using Python, SQL, and PySpark. A successful candidate will help drive quality at scale in a cloud data environment and contribute to faster, safer releases.

• Design and maintain automated test suites across unit, integration, end-to-end, and regression testing
• Develop Pytest tests and reusable Python test frameworks
• Conduct functional testing and data validation across pipelines using SQL and PySpark
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Raise and track defects through to resolution

• Strong Python and SQL skills, ideally with PySpark
• Experience with Pytest and various testing levels (integration, end-to-end, regression)
• Software quality assurance and functional testing
• Data validation expertise
• Git and CI/CD experience, ideally Azure DevOps (GitHub also considered)
