Test Automation Engineer (Automation)

Location: Remote/Hybrid as required
Start Date: End of September / Early October 2026
Duration: Initial 3-month contract

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years' commercial experience with Playwright (more preferred).
  • Proven experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks from scratch.
  • TypeScript coding and technical depth
  • Strong experience in UI test automation
  • Ability to work closely with technical and business teams to establish automation standards and best practices.
  • Experience mentoring/coaching teams and sharing automation knowledge. (working with Haden (our perm resource)

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build a Playwright-based automation framework for the Nexus Programme.
  • Develop and maintain automated UI test suites.
  • Work closely with the Calculations Team to transfer knowledge and embed automation practices.
  • Establish automation standards, reusable components, and framework governance.
  • Support the wider programme in increasing automation coverage and improving quality assurance processes.

Desirable Skills

  • Performance testing - advantageous
  • Experience using Xray as a Test Management tool. advantageous
  • Previous experience within the Pensions sector advantageous
  • Performance testing experience (e.g. JMeter, k6, LoadRunner or similar) advantageous
