In this role you will lead the design and validation of board, sub-system and system test equipment, guiding junior engineers and ensuring robust test solutions. You will work closely with hardware and software teams to define interfaces, write design documentation, and drive through-life support for test hardware. The position sits at the intersection of hardware, software and manufacturing, with emphasis on delivering reliable test capabilities for mission-critical systems. You will contribute to IPDS processes, participate in design gates and support compliance and safety standards. This is a hands-on, collaborative role at Raytheon UK, offering exposure to cutting-edge test architectures

- Design functional test equipment
- Support overall test equipment quality and provide leadership to junior engineers
- Document design specifications and participate in design reviews
- Develop robust hardware solutions and understand system-level items
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to agree interfaces and protocols
- Develop test hardware, software and procedures to prove correct operation
- Support manufacturing with technical issue resolution and lifecycle obsolescence management
- Monitor and report progress of test development to supervisor and team
- Contribute to IPDS processes and gate/design reviews
- Interface with external customers/suppliers
- Understand Test Development processes and tools
- Provide resource planning input using MS Project
- Lead small-scale Test Engineering program
- Identify and engage SMEs for Test Development activities
- Support standard/tailored test development processes and IPDS gates
- Maintain compliance with Health and Safety and company policies
- Undertake other activities as requested by management
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or related subject (preferably 2.1 Hons or higher)
- Test software design experience
- Excellent knowledge of analogue and digital circuit design
- Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation
- Experience handing over and managing designs in production
- Strong hardware troubleshooting skills
- Ability to support/debug system integration
- Good knowledge of MS Office
