System Integration Engineer

12-Month Contract | Inside IR35 | Hybrid | Cambridgeshire

My client is looking for an experienced System Integration Engineer to join their product engineering team on an initial 12-month contract . This is a hands-on role focused on the integration, testing and debugging of complex IoT products incorporating embedded software, electronics and wireless communications..

Key Responsibilities

• Define detailed test plans, test cases and test design documentation
• Design and build physical test setups for system integration and validation
• Carry out hands-on manual testing and produce detailed test reports
• Debug complex embedded systems, with a particular focus on electronics and embedded firmware
• Troubleshoot issues across multidisciplinary HW, FW and SW environments
• Carry out protocol testing across both RF and wired interfaces
• Support technical investigations and failure analysis
• Work closely with System Engineers, Embedded Software Engineers, Hardware Engineers and other Integration Engineers

Key Skills & Experience

• BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  + 3+ years' experience in multidisciplinary system integration across HW, FW and SW
• Strong experience defining test plans and test design documentation
• Experience debugging complex embedded systems
• Experience testing RF and wired communication protocols
• Good understanding of IoT systems, RF communications and hardware interfaces
• Experience troubleshooting using standard electronic test equipment
• Strong technical understanding and the ability to quickly learn new technologies

Contract: 12 months
IR35: Inside IR35
Location: Cambridgeshire
Working Pattern: Hybrid, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office
